About Pears
Background
Freshco has successfully exported Pears to world markets for many years. One of the varieties we export (Taylor's Gold) was discovered in Nelson and is an offshoot of Comice.
Growing Regions
Freshco sources Pears from the Hawkes Bay and Nelson areas. Both areas provide specialised conditions allowing for the best possible quality and tasting pears.
Varities & Availability
Freshco offer two varieties being Comice and Taylor's Gold. Taylor's Gold have cinnamon coloured appearance with melt in the mouth juiciness. Comice pear is regarded as a gourmet pear and has a buttery, juicy sweet flesh and very uniform in shape. Both varieties are available from March.
Specifications
We offer packaging in single layer trays weighing 7.5kg nett. We ship these via sea in 40' high-cube reefer containers.
